SUMMARY
Known from the Channel Islands and from a wide area of the Suffolk sandings. It is possible (Though now rather unlikely) that other species of ant-lion will be found in Britain. However Euroleon nostra is distinctive and additional species will be readily spotted, even if they cannot be immediately named. Larvae construct cone-shape pits in the soft, dry sand and live below, feeding on insects that fall in. the adults may be mistaken for damsel flies, all brown coloured examples of which seen in sandy soil areas should be captured and examined! The clubbed antennae render lions quite distinctive.
